This is a national flag from the Republic of Benin, a country in south-central West Africa. The left side of the flag is a vertical rectangle, which is green; On the right are two transverse rectangles. The two rectangles have the same length and width and are parallel to each other. Among them, the upper rectangle is yellow and the lower rectangle is red.

The three colors of the national flag represent different meanings, among which green symbolizes prosperity; Yellow represents land; Red represents the sun and also the blood of ancestors. Red, yellow and green are deeply loved by African people and are called "Pan-African Colors", symbolizing the unity of African people.
